				One more pic of simple farm land in Iceland. This is near Reykjavik, a geothermal area where you can find many greehouses that use this energy. The main production is flowers, tomatoes, paprika and other common vegetables. They also do bananas, but mostly to be able to say that they can do it:-) The earth is quite reddish and I took this around 10 pm, I did find the soft light lovely with that bit of haze coming down... ;

				Farmland (mostly grazing for horses and sheep, although you don't see any just here) under Snaefellsnessjokull volcano, the one mentioned as the place to enter the center of the Earth in Jules Verne's novel Voyage to the center of the Earth...:-) The top of the volcano likes to hide, this was a lucky evening. It's about 1450 m high and its last eruption was around 200 AD. I love this kind of simple landscape, less spectacular but infinitely peaceful, somehow hard and so beautiful.

				Another one on Iceland. A simple view from our window at midnight. Taken in Hverardi, rural area near Reykjavik, with a lot of greenhouses thanks to the geothermical activity. I almost never went to bed before 1-2 a.m. during these holidays as I was always watching the wonderful changing light...

				Hello, I am back:-) To my buddies here, I have disappeared for a little while, because : too much work, sore eyes, and no ADSL at home since more than a week.... and probably not restored for a few more weeks if I am unlucky. Will not linger on that and on the sorry state of the Belgian telecommunications :-) So, I am taking some time at work to post this and have a quick look at your blogs, I am missing the daily contact too much. This is my first attempt at some heavy Photoshop work, Ink Lines:-). I might post the original as well tomorrow. Please be critical ! Thank you:-) Here you have Brussels' half-tunnel (approx 8 km) that delimitates the historical part of Brussels and leads to the main avenues. It is of course one of the busiest lanes of the town during the week...quite a mess...

				West Fjords of Iceland, near Bolungarvik. A very classical postcard view:-) and t's quite grainy, I had left the camera at 800 ISO by mistake... but I wanted to show the colours, which are 100% real. For my English/Scottish friends, have a look on the 20 August pic: if you ever happen to be around Hull:-)

It is made mostly of corrugated tin and wood, typical of Icelandic construction. Beside it, towering Hallgrimskirkja (74.5 m, 244 ft) ft), one of the tallest buildings in Iceland, named after the Icelandic poet and clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson (1614 to 1674), author of the Passion Hymns.

				In the village of Vik, South of Iceland, 300 inhabitants. "Voyage" by Steinunn Thorarinsdottir, is a work of art uniting Britain and Iceland with a sister sculpure in Kingston upon Hull.Both face out to sea. They symbolize the bond created by more than a thousands years of sea trading between the two countries. A tribute to fishermen and other seafarers who have braved the perils of the sea, they are also a memorial to those whose lives have been claimed by the waters of the North Atlantic. The statue was commissioned 30 years after the ending of the cod war:-) I have posted this especially for John, urbanphoto8 who has a pic with a similar artist: http://urban8photo.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Gormley_on_the_South_Bank/

				Now I don't know about this one... it's a small river in the Icelandic Highlands, water so pure you can drink it, I put the shutterspeed on purpose at 1/250 so rather low as it is running fast to have a different result. I justg can't decide if it nice or not...so thank you for your critics !:-) By the way, I want to thank you all who give me regularly comments,some of you on a regular basis, I am very thankful and I do find it so enjoyable...and helpful as well. Photograpy is new in my life and I will have to find more time for it somehow, and not only during holidays:-). It is also such a pleasure to discover all your pics, I am fascinated by all the different styles and personalities. Michèle '
