Sailing

"Solfar - (The Sun Voyager)", is one of my favourite sculpures in Reykjavik, a work by Jon Gunnar Arnason, It stands on its own on the seashore

It is of course  a viking ship. Iceland's viking heritage is much celebrated.

I do find this a  beautiful sculpture for many reasons.  It's beautifully crafted and evocative. It almost seems to be floating on the water, ready for sailing. ..

Here it was about midnight, when the sun never goes down. If you like it I have one or two more that show more details.
